Why did the North win?

What most contributed to the Union victory in the Civil War? Was it Northern advantages such as population, industry, finances, leadership? Was it battlefield victories or campaigns? Was it foreign intervention (or lack thereof)? Was it Southern mistakes? Was it the influence of liberated slaves? Was it idealism or the moral high-ground of abolition of slavery?
