Marrying a non-believer and family dislikes him?

I'm engaged to an agnostic and come from a fundamentalist evangelical christian family. My mom is the matriarch of our family and I love her dearly. However, with her leading, my family almost hates my fiance. The only reason is because of his non belief. In fact, my mom has said that if he were a christian, she would walk us down the aisle to get married today. I love him with all my heart. We have discussed how we would raise children and our personal religious viewpoints. We have even attended pre-marital counseling as preparation. How do I get my family to respect my choice and attend my wedding? They won't talk to my fiance with respect. They kicked him out of the house last Christmas when we announced our engagement. Growing up, I never saw or felt a part of this kind of hatred and judgment. I guess it was always there, though. Remember...he's a good guy!
